Night In The Tropics 2015

Things looked “interesting” late last week as Hurricane Danny tracked along a path that could have brought wet weather to us this coming weekend.  You could hear the almost audible sigh of relief from everyone associated with Greater New Port Richey Main Street as the storm fell apart and started tracking further south.

Night In The Tropics is an annual street party each August that celebrates life with a Caribbean  theme and music.  You can almost imagine yourself in Key West or another tropical town.

As with anything outdoors this time of year, you may want to schedule your visit to start close to sunset.  The heat and humidity tend to be a bit much until the sun goes down.

This year’s event will feature a military vehicle cruise-in along Main Street, street vendors and a lot more.  It is a good opportunity to check out our downtown and enjoy dinner at one of our many dining establishments.
