We finally made the move to our new house. As we unpack boxes, it is beginning to look like a home. There are still lots of boxes to dig through, but we are making progress. I’ve been organizing DVDs and I’ve got my LPs pretty much organized. Both projects have been a good excuse to listen to some music I haven’t heard in a while.
I had best intentions of posting sooner, but life has a way of keeping us on our toes. “Moving Day” was the middle of July and “busy” doesn’t start to describe life around here. With the start of school, the last week has been no exception.
I’ve been getting up before dawn to walk our new puppy. He is more or less housebroken. He is 30 pounds at five months of age. If he grows into his paws, he is going to be one big dog. Fortunately we have a huge fenced in back yard for him to play in. For what it is worth, our cat is not amused.
Even though I retired from elected office over a year ago, I’m staying busy with work. At one point last week, I had three computers on my repair bench. I got one returned to its owner and I’ll be delivering the other two early this week.
My church choir started up again this month. I enjoy singing in the choir, so I was ready for our summer break to be over.
Bob, one of my fellow choir members, came up to me before church and asked if I could check his tires as he had gotten a low tire pressure indication when he headed for church. By the time I got there, Gary had already plugged in this cool Ryobi cordless compressor in to pump up Bob’s tires and spotted the screw that was causing one tire to lose pressure. The compressor is $40 without a battery or charger. I’ve already got a couple of Ryobi cordless tools, so it was a no brainer to pick up one for use here. I pumped up the tires on both cars this morning. If you’ve got Ryobi cordless stuff already, this is definitely a tool to take a look at.
Time to start triaging some more boxes.
