Irma – Stay Safe

Mayor Rob Marlowe

The entire city is now under a mandatory evacuation order.  We strongly recommend that you take this order seriously.  If you’ve got family or friends on the east side of Little Road, see if you can hunker down with them.  You can check for the current list of shelters on the county website, but all of the shelters combined will only handle a fraction of the 130,000 or so folks who have been ordered to evacuate.

City staff, including Public Works, Police, and Fire, will be on duty during the storm.  Understand though that there will be a period of time when NOBODY will be able to come to your aid if you stay at home and then get into trouble.

Please stay safe over the weekend.

Rob Marlowe, Mayor
