The Mayor in a city like New Port Richey is expected to set a tone for the city and lead the City Council as it moves the City forward.  As you consider where we have been, where we are, and where we ought to be three years from now, it should become clear what sort of leader the city needs for the post of Mayor.

Cheerleading is certainly a part of being Mayor.  This NPR Note marks my 116th note since I was elected as your Mayor three years ago.  If you go back and read the other 115, you will discover that a common thread that runs through them is my continuing promotion of New Port Richey as a wonderful place to live, work, and play.

Being a cheerleader means more that talking about how you want to be a cheerleader.  It means walking the walk.  Visit https://robmarlowe.com and scroll to the bottom of the page.  You can read all of my NPR Notes for the past three years.  It will give you quite the insight on how I spend my time promoting the City of New Port Richey.

In addition to being the first Mayor of New Port Richey to publish a blog, I am active on Facebook ( https://www.facebook.com/mayorrobmarlowe/ ); I attend as many ribbon cuttings as I can and I am working to bring representatives from our Sister City to New Port Richey later this year.  I even check in on Facebook on my personal Facebook page when I go to dinner or have dessert at one of our downtown establishments, so that I can promote them.

I spent hours welcoming some 1100 visitors to the Hacienda a couple of weeks ago.  Most of them were from outside the city limits.  I gave them an introduction to the Hacienda as well as a brief description of all the great things happening here in New Port Richey.

Cheerleading takes many forms.

Rob Marlowe, Mayor

Mayor Marlowe has led decision making and action on many fronts and he has driven the city to address problems that needed attention. He makes it happen! During his time in office these problems have been addressed (partial list): removal of many vacant and derilict structures in our neighborhoods, crackdown on US 19 prostitution, hiring a really professional city manager, getting that ten year white elephant Main Street landing back on track to house citizens, Hacienda renovation, hiring an economic development manager, Sims Park renovation, redevelopment of the old Baptist Church site on Orange lake, and improvement of the recreation and aquatic center to produce more revenue. I support his reelection simply because he gets it done!
